Legal work related to the sale/purchase of a vessel can be divided into two categories: the acquisition of an existing vessel (new or used) and the construction of a new one. The purchase of an existing yacht is carried out in accordance with certain market standards (most often MYBA), but despite the relative simplicity and transparency of the schemes, it has a significant number of nuances that are important to control and comply with. Drawing up a contract for the construction of a vessel (new build contract) taking into account the stages of construction, their acceptance, payment is a completely different task in terms of volume and complexity of work, which requires not only legal support, but also the regular participation of surveyors and experts.

Vessel registration is the second mandatory stage after the transfer of ownership. The choice of flag, the conditions under which the registration is carried out, allows (in some cases) to obtain certain tax advantages, and also imposes certain requirements on the vessel, its technical condition and equipment. Our company cooperates with the registers of many countries and allows you to choose the flag that best meets the requirements and tasks that follow from the citizenship of the vessel owner and the region of navigation.

Our company cooperates with the world's largest carriers and logistics companies and delivers yachts without exaggeration all over the world - from any water area or marina to a place determined by the customer. Our experience allows us to carry out multimodal and combined transportation of even large yachts not only in the Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, Australia, Caribbean islands, South and North America.
For yachts up to 60 feet lenght, special trucks are usually used overland, depending on the destination, for a larger fleet, most often “water-water” (loading-hauling), and then to the final destination.
Through the Borders on Wheels
Transportation is carried out on specialized trailers. In some cases, it is necessary to dismantle the attachments, radar arches and even the upper deck with subsequent assembly at the point of transfer of the vessel. Since all yachts are oversized cargo, transportation is carried out with the receipt of appropriate permits and accompanied by support inspectors. Plotting the route, travel time, customs clearance - also lies on the shoulders of the carrier. Azimut Yachts Ukraine has completed more than one hundred such tasks in the interests of clients during the company's work.
Over Seas Without Limits
In case of transporting a yacht over very long distances (for example, from Southeast Asia to the Mediterranean Sea) with a vessel size of up to ~50 meters, the only rational solution is sea transportation. For this, specialized vessels with cranes on board are used, which load the object from the water onto the deck or into the hold and also unload it into the water at the destination. All transportation is separately insured by the carrier, and survey control is carried out upon transfer of the cargo.
On it’s Own
Since any yacht is a vehicle, in some cases the transition from point A to point B occurs under its own power - this is the easiest way. The only thing that imposes restrictions in this case is the power reserve of the vessel and its seaworthiness. For small vessels, transitions are available in good weather and if there are gas stations along the route, while almost all yachts from 50 meters have a level of autonomy that allows crossing oceans while observing reasonable safety measures.

Accounts
Almost any owner of a yacht over 30 meters comes to the understanding that such an asset requires appropriate control and organization regarding expenses related to the vessel and the company. The main expense items are payment for moorings, refueling, maintenance, salaries of the crew, agents and suppliers. Shifting this task to the shoulders of the crew creates an additional burden on the captain and carries potential risks for optimizing expenses.
Technical and Operational
The main objective of this direction is to systematize the work regarding the timely maintenance of all units and assemblies on board, to help with the search and selection of contractors, suppliers of spare parts, to build a schedule of work, maintaining the vessel in class (if any). At first glance, this issue can be resolved by calling the nearest service, in practice - this requires advance planning, where relationships and many years of experience play an important role. Another task of this direction is to work with agents and customs services in ports and marinas, organize the provision of the vessel, plan bunkering and parking along the route.
Crew Managment
There is an erroneous opinion that the owner only needs to find a captain, and then he independently recruits the crew, but the real practice is different and the larger the vessel, the more difficult it is. The process of selecting and staffing the crew does not end during the entire period of ownership of the vessel. Crew members come and go, and may not suit the owner for professional and personal reasons. Selecting a crew requires a lot of attention at the stage of searching, selection, interviewing, working with recruiting companies, registering each employee in accordance with international maritime legislation, and insurance.

Comprehensive maintenance of a yacht is a mandatory condition for maintaining its performance characteristics at the level necessary for safe operation of the vessel. To ensure the characteristics declared by the manufacturer and the desired level of comfort, professional maintenance of the vessel's units and assemblies is required regularly and throughout the entire service life. Azimut Yachts Ukraine has a network of partner authorized service centers and representatives throughout the Mediterranean, where both seasonal technical maintenance and warranty work are carried out.
