Construction stages

Idea discussion,
choosing model and shipyard

The most important thing is to listen to the wishes of the future Owner: the presumed budget for construction and yearly maintenance, number of guests, region of journeys, number of days on board, design concept, extent of customization and terms of delivery.

Layouts, design
and materials choice

If the yacht largely retains the layouts and design solutions proposed by the manufacturer, then the formal approval of the project can happen quite quickly (1.5-2 months). If the project is largely individual, requires a lot of refinement for both parties, formalization of the visual part and materials, then the approval of the project can take from 3 months or more. Depending on the circumstances and agreements between the parties, these terms may or may not be included by the manufacturer in the announced construction time.

Start of construction
and stage-by-stage approvals

There are two possible scenarios here: the first is when the keel is laid and construction begins "from scratch", the second is when the hull already exists, which means the delivery time for the vessel is significantly reduced. In either scenario, a "byuer's decision list" is signed along with the contract, according to which the future owner will have to gradually approve the details of the future project, both in terms of aesthetics and technical aspects.

Construction supervision

Throughout the whole period of construction our company keeps control of every stage and provides regular reports on the work in progress. Our surveyors visit the shipyard for mid-term inspections and corrections. The future Owner can insert some changes even at this stage, yet understanding that it can cause some delay in delivery.

Completion
and Delivery

The first sea trials are carried out almost simultaneously with the first launch. Then, over the course of several weeks, stage-by-stage tests of the vessel and all units, systems and assemblies are carried out both in the dock and in open water. As a result, a list of minor defects (with which the yacht can be accepted), the time frame for their elimination and the transfer of the vessel to the customer are compiled.

Crew selection

It would be incorrect to say that this stage begins after the transfer of the vessel. The crew must be completed before the yacht is received by the owner, so the selection and approval of candidates begins at least six months before this event. The captain and part of the crew take the most active part in the technical acceptance of the vessel.

Receiving a flag,
insurance

The final stage before the start of the vessel's operation is its placement under the flag with the fulfillment of the relevant conditions of the register (country), which are also taken into account when building the yacht. Insurance of the vessel, property, crew is a service that we provide jointly with leading specialized players in the insurance market.
